Description

Every aspect of life entails choices, preferences, and impacts how people feel and enjoy their quality of life. If a person cannot respond to the world or has altered communication or cognition, how does it impact his or her psychosocial well-being? The reasonable person concept refers to the individual's perspective regardless of his or her mental or physical abilities to react to the external environment. Learn more about establishing baseline psychosocial wellbeing, care planning, IDRs and providing person centered care.

Learner Objectives:

  1. Define the reasonable person concept according to CMS
  2. Explain how to evaluate and care plan psychosocial outcomes
  3. Describe how the IDR process can be used to reduce actual harm outcomes

Nurse Learner Outcome: At the conclusion of this session, participants will self-report a knowledge gainon the post session evaluation of the implications of the reasonable person concept.
