During COVID and the subsequent staffing crisis, we have become afraid to hold team members accountable for fear that they will walk out the door. Coupled with the lack of skill that leaves some leaders feeling uncomfortable with addressing issues of accountability, employees who are doing the job well are often angry when the behavior of those who need more guidance and/or discipline is ignored. This interactive session explores the ways to change our perception of accountability from blaming and shaming to a learning experience. It examines accountability bias and its impact on the organization. Group interactions and activities will examine the benefits of holding ourselves and each other accountable for our behavior and actions.
