SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY:
Amanda is a master’s prepared registered nurse with 30 years of experience in a variety of different clinical settings as well as over 20 years of infection control experience. She is currently the West Region Clinical Science Liaison for PDI as well as a PRN Infection Preventionist for Shalom Park in Aurora, Colorado, and she also volunteers as the Infection Preventionist for a behavioral health facility in Phoenix, Az. Amanda joined PDI from Kindred Hospital, where she was the Chief Clinical Officer and an Infection Preventionist for many years. She has been a nurse educator for the VA as well as an instructor for the nursing and CNA programs of Uintah Basin Applied Technology College in Vernal, Utah.
Amanda earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at University of Northern Colorado and her Master of Science in Nursing, with an emphasis in Infection Control and Epidemiology, at American Sentinel University in Aurora, Colorado. She is board certified in infection control through CBIC (CIC) as well as long term care board certified CIC (LTC-CIP).
Amanda currently holds the title of volunteer community educator for the Alzheimer’s association, enjoys making resin art, and resides in Denver Colorado with her husband, her two dogs, and one very overweight cat.
