KARE has released the first two parts of their study related to the “Trauma and Resilience” of the workforce in long-term care:

• Part One – Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) and today's CareForce
• Part Two – The Influence of Mental Health and Personal Well-being in the Workplace

A high-level overview of the first two studies will be reviewed in conjunction with how an authentic culture allows for workforce strength and resilience. How to potentially include refugees into our workforce will be reviewed and tied to the overall success of workforce retention.

Learner Objectives:

1. Understand today's long term care workforce.
2. Discuss how an authentic culture impacts the facility's workforce.
3. Review the opportunity to engage with the refugee community as a part of the long-term care workforce.
