Marea Trotter, BSN, R.N. currently serves as the Vice President of Clinical Services for The Peplinski Group Inc., an organization which manages ten skilled nursing facilities throughout Michigan. During her tenure with The Peplinski Group, Marea has also held the positions of Director of Nursing, Regional Nurse Consultant, and Clinical Compliance & Infection Control Specialist.
The COVID-19 pandemic increased Marea’s interest in infection prevention and in 2022 she received board-certification as a Long Term Care Infection Preventionist (LTC-CIP). Marea continues to oversee all aspects of Infection Prevention and participates in the Association of Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology and the Great Lakes Region Association of Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology. Additionally, she is serving as the Chairperson for The National Association of Directors of Nursing Administration Infection Prevention Board (NADONA) and is an engaged member of the Health Care Association of Michigan and the American Health Care Association (AHCA).
Prior to realizing her true passion was in the long-term care setting, Marea worked in acute care settings as a neurology critical care nurse, receiving the designation of Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN). She also served as adjunct faculty for Saginaw Valley State University’s nursing program teaching clinicals at the Saginaw Veteran Affairs Hospital. Marea is a veteran of the United States Army as a Non-Commissioned Officer and is a decorated combat veteran serving during the initial invasion of Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom and in Kuwait during Operation Enduring Freedom as an Air Traffic Control Assistant and Flight Dispatcher.
