Dr. Jon Barch received his PhD in Psychological & Quantitative Foundations from the University of Iowa. Dr. Barch was a leadership educator for 13 years and is currently the social and personality psychology content expert at Northern Michigan University. He teaches advanced courses in Social Cognition; Psychology of Race & Gender; Human Motivation Theory; Nature and Wellness; and Psychology of Personality. Dr. Barch and four colleagues were recently awarded nearly half a million dollars from the National Science Foundation for their social-cognitive neuroscience research, which uses high-density EEG to study social and motivational aspects of neural reward processing. Dr. Barch has three children. The youngest is 18 and his twins are 20. When not at work, Dr. Barch enjoys sailing, fishing, and watching nature at his log cabin on Helen Lake about an hour away from Marquette.
