This session will highlight analyzing the root causes of the top citations nationwide and introduce evidence-based approaches to reduce the risk of being cited in these areas, creating an informal dispute resolution if cited and development of an effective plan of correction. The role of the QAPI Committee will be referenced as part of attaining and sustaining regulatory success in these areas.

Nurse Learner Outcome: At the conclusion of the educational session 80% of participants will self-report a knowledge gain of using root cause analysis to improve infection prevention in a plan of correction.

1. Identify 3 steps to improve infection prevention practice.
2. Define actions to reduce kitchen sanitation deficiencies by 50%.
3. Describe methods of ongoing improvement to sustain and maintain regulatory requirements and best standards of practice.
