This program will be held on Zoom. The session will be recorded and available on-demand, however, no CE will be offered for on-demand participation.

 

This engaging session equips leaders with practical strategies to retain, recruit, and cultivate frontline staff through effective coaching. Participants will learn to conduct structured coaching conversations, use data to align coaching with staff needs, and evaluate their coaching impact to foster growth and professional satisfaction among their teams. Through interactive discussions and actionable tools, leaders will leave ready to integrate coaching seamlessly into their daily workflow, driving a culture of engagement and development in long-term care settings.

Learner Objectives:

  1. Demonstrate the use of structured coaching conversations (e.g., SBAR, reflective questioning) with frontline staff to identify professional development goals and retention needs.
  2. Evaluate the effectiveness of coaching strategies that can be deployed to improve job satisfaction and professional growth among frontline staff.
  3. Analyze data, to identify trends that impact retention and recruitment of frontline nurses, linking findings to targeted coaching interventions.

Nurse Learner Outcome:  At the conclusion of this session, participants will have identified new knowledge and tools to use within their scope of practice and span of control regarding recruitment, retention and coaching.

Continuing Education

RN: This program will provide participants the opportunity to earn up to 2 nurse contact hours. Health Care Association of Michigan is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Wisconsin Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. This program is jointly provided with MI-NADONA/LTC.

NHA: The Health Care Association of Michigan is a Certified Sponsor of continuing education with the National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Boards (NAB).

  • This program has been submitted but not yet approved for Continuing Education for 2 total participant hours by NAB/NCERS - Approval #
  • NHA CE is not being offered for on-demand completion of this program.

CE Reporting:  HCAM will need 30 days after the event conclusion to compile and process all attendance data. Once the data is compiled, certificates will be available to access. Certificate questions should be directed to Mary Gettel.

Requirements of Participation:

  1. Attendance is being strictly monitored.
  2. Be sure you are entering and exiting sessions at the start and end of the session – if you miss more than 10 minutes because you arrived late or left early, you will lose partial credit. HCAM will issue partial credit by half hour attended. It is YOUR responsibility to follow the agenda and be on time!
  3. A post-test must be successfully completed with a passing score of 85% or higher in order to earn credit.
  4. The evaluation must be completed in order to earn your certificate of completion.
  5. Attendees caught cheating or violating our attendance policies will not receive credit for the remainder of the event.
