Session Date: Thursday, November 19, 2026
Session Time: 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM (UTC-04:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)
This program will be held live on Zoom. No CE will be offered. The session will be recorded for later access.
H.R. 1 includes significant Medicaid changes that will affect skilled nursing facilities and the residents they serve. This webinar will highlight pertinent provisions and their potential implications for Medicaid eligibility, access to coverage, and facility reimbursement, with particular emphasis on the shortened retroactive coverage periods. Participants will learn about implementation timelines and how these changes could affect Michigan providers, including the potential for coverage gaps and increased uncompensated care.
Join Grant Beebe, Director of Medicaid Policy at AHCA/NCAL, and JP Brandt, Senior Health Policy Counsel at Thorn Run Partners, for a discussion of these changes and practical steps facilities can take to prepare. In addition to reviewing other relevant Medicaid impacts of H.R. 1, presenters will explore strategies for timely Medicaid applications, documentation, coordination with residents and families, and strengthening admissions and business office processes to reduce financial risk.
