Michigan Public Act 187 of 2022 introduced significant changes to state oversight of skilled nursing facilities, increasing regulatory scrutiny and raising new questions about incident reporting and survey enforcement. This session will break down the key provisions of PA 187, review emerging survey trends, and clarify Facility Reported Incident (FRI) reporting requirements. Participants will gain practical guidance to strengthen compliance practices and confidently navigate evolving state and federal expectations.

Continuing Education
NHA: The Health Care Association of Michigan is a Certified Sponsor of continuing education with the National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Boards (NAB). This program has been submitted, but not yet approved for Continuing Education for 1 total participant hour by NAB/NCERS—Approval #
CE Reporting: HCAM will need 30 days after the event conclusion to compile and process all attendance data. Once the data is compiled, certificates will be available to access. Certificate questions should be directed to Allison Taipalus. Session attendance for administrators will be reported to NAB using their NAB Registry ID.
Requirements of Participation:
- Attendance is being strictly monitored.
- Be sure you are entering and exiting sessions at the start and end of the session – if you miss more than 10 minutes because you arrived late or left early, you will not earn credit.
- The evaluation must be completed in order to earn your certificate of completion.
- A post-test must be successfully completed with a passing score of 85% or higher in order to earn credit if participating on-demand.
- Attendees caught cheating or violating our attendance policies will not receive credit for the remainder of the conference.
