2024 HCAM Webinar: What the New USDOL Overtime Rule Means for Employers
Session Date: Wednesday, June 5, 2024
Session Time: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM (UTC-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)
This program will be held on Zoom. It will be recorded and available on-demand, however CE is only available for live participants.
- Discuss the new final rule that affects employees who are exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act’s minimum wage and overtime protections if they are employed in a bona fide executive, administrative, or professional (EAP) capacity, as those terms are defined in the Department’s regulations at 29 CFR part 541.
- Examine the following three tests that EAP employees generally must meet to be exempt:
- be paid a salary, meaning that they are paid a predetermined and fixed amount that is not subject to reduction because of variations in the quality or quantity of work performed;
- be paid at least a specified weekly salary level; and
- primarily perform executive, administrative, or professional duties, as provided in the Department’s regulations.
